 Short Profile

The rule railcar used on the German Federal Railways for the construction and scheduled examination of the electrical overhead lines and to eliminate interference and damage.
The shell body is made of a welded construction in profile design made of steel. For special equipment, the required high payload and the platform raised and lowered the body reinforced with a special stand.
The car floor plan is divided into two cabs and a 26 M2 large workshop space. The cabs are connected by hinged doors with the workshop area. The workshop is especially for the storage of spare parts, tools and work equipment, which are housed on shelves on the side walls. A workbench allows minor repairs. In addition, a desk, a wardrobe and a heated clothes dryer are available.
To observe the catenary system while driving is in the workshop room pulpit with an observation platform. Two searchlights allow control of the contact line in the dark. On the roof of the control tower railcar a current collector to verify the contact wire and the interaction of overhead line and pantograph is constructed. With an adjusting device, the contact pressure can be regulated.
The work platform is raised and lowered hydraulically and electrically - in an emergency manual - mounted. In order to achieve in the transverse fields of the stations each point, in addition to a riser height 8 m retractable steel conductor on the platform is provided. With an attachable auxiliary wire catenary components can still be reached in 15 m height above rails. The lifting and lowering and tilting the stage is controlled by the working platform.

Cabs, observation pulpit and platform are connected by a public address system. To the entertainment staff outside the car can be given instructions on Swing Speakers. For voice communication with a wireless intercom stations is built.
The machinery consists of two independent 6-cylinder underfloor 4-stroke diesel engines with fuel and cooling system, a hydraulic clutch, a six-speed gearbox with electro-magnetic circuit and an axle reversing. The need for the laying of a new catenary low cruising speed of 5 km / h is possible with a combined speed filling control.

The compressed air for the brake and the auxiliary equipment is generated by two air compressors which are driven by the driving motors. As current sources are used in stationary diesel engine, four individual batteries that are recharged via 4 x 700 W output alternators. In addition, the batteries on a charger from a local area network 220 V can be charged. On the platform and in the shop outlets are available.
The heating of the car via the engine heat. Two oil heaters allow preheating and holding the machine system and heat the workshop space and the cabs, if the engine is not in operation, and at extremely low temperatures.
