The REM 35D-II (*DGS62) dynamic stabilizer is mainly used for new line construction, old line large and medium maintenance to improve horizontal resistance of track and stability of track bed. Both ends of vehicle are fitted with cabs. The REM 32EXP Dynamic is a heavy duty, high speed, continuous action production track tamping machine. The tamping units are mounted on a separate, self-propelled, satellite frame. While the satellite indexes two sleepers at a time during the actual work process, the machine's main frame with stabilizer system moves continuously. The objective of this method of investigation is to determine the pollution within the ballast bed and the mixture of ballast with the subsoil. It is also possible to locate water traps. The qualitative measurement of the water content in the subsoil enables the existing drainage quality to be assessed. By comparing the condition before and after the rehabilitation, it was possible to make a quality assessment of the formation rehabilitation work performed.
Technology The REM Georadar Measurements - RGM is state of the art for GPR systems. It is based on more than 20 years of working experience with GPR and it is the product of continuous development and adaptation to the specific requirements of our international railway customers. - Survey of tracks of any length or even of the entire railway network. - High speed survey of 900 track kilometres per run. - 2,000 scans per second. - Each channel is controlled separately, allowing even speeds of more than 300 kph. - Three or even more longitudinal profiles provide track cross section at any position. - Measurement only between sleepers to avoid disturbances. - Scan distance between 2 cm and 60 cm for coping with all customer requirements. - Antennae frequencies between 100 MHz and 900 MHz for high resolution in all depths. - System-embedded positioning radar for accurate allocation of all measuring data along the entire track. Accuracy better than 0.5 m. - System-integrated DGPS for reception of world wide satellite systems GPS and GLONASS. Correction data for GPS via GSM or EGNOS for an accuracy better than 0.3 m. - Displaying of survey track and all constructions in Google Earth. - System-integrated Video-camera for continuous view of survey track. - System-specific Viewer-programme for display of the GPR results related to the geotechnical conditions of the track, including Google-Earth-view and Video-camera-pictures.
The RGM survey provides continuous details of track conditions. Railway engineers obtain important information about: - Thickness of track bed and sub-ballast layer. - Sections with clean or fouled ballast. - Drainage problems in ballast bed and undertrack. - Mapping of load-bearing problems (settlements, ballast pockets). - Anomalies along the track. RGM - Radargram with longitudinal profile of track section The picture shows a track section between km 11.100 and km 11.700. In that section the ballast has been renewed to a depth of 0.3 m. Below, there is fouled ballast (dark grey layer). Ballast settlements indicate insufficient bearing capacity of the sandy formation. Below the sandy layer, a drilling at km 11.450 is showing peat and clay. The picture shows a track section between km 1.300 and km 1.900 (see horizontal axis). The vertical axes represent both depth in m related to top of sleepers and travel time of the waves in nanoseconds. In that section the ballast has been renewed to a depth of 0.5 m (pale grey layer). Below, there is fouled ballast (dark grey layer). Ballast settlements can be seen between km 1.460 and 1.570. This is an indication for insufficient bearing capacity of the sandy subgrade (yellow layer). Below the sandy formation there is clay to be found. Between km 1.600 and km 1.900 the clay layer is almost adjacent to the ballast bed. In this section, a well working drainage is important. Otherwise water will remain inside the track, leading to eventual stability problems of the track. The picture shows crossings at km 1.370 and km 1.870. Drillings have been carried out at km 1.550 and km 1.740. In both cases ground water has been found in a depth of 1.2 m.
Quality control of track construction Track construction is always very cost-intensive. That's why at least the result should add up. Our quality control is continuous and exact. And we provide information about: - Quality of new ballast (cleanliness). - Thickness of track bed and sub-ballast layer. - Efficiency of track drainage. - Evenness of ballast-bed bottom or sub-ballast layer. - Track cross-section. +REM Laser Using a REM laser system (levelling and lining laser) with a REMTECH tamper, gives the opportunity for simultaneous measurement of alignment and longitudinal level faults using a dot laser beam which strikes a laser receiver camera. With this REM system the measurement speed is designed to meet the optimal speed and stability ratio for both measurement drive and working drive of the REMTECH tamping machines, giving best possible accuracy for the measurement and long measurement distance for each drive. The Laser device uses very high measurement speed (over 500 measurements for second) to produce profile data for the curves when it is used with measurement coaches. The system allows to control the geometry of the railway in several hundreds of meters ahead of the operating REMTECH tamper, giving a resolution of up to 0.01% of the measuring range. Additional option: By wish of the client, there is an option for the REM Laser transmitter trolley to be made fully self – propelling with full REM Remote Control from the control cabin of the REMTECH tamper. This gives opportunity to fully eliminate the need of additional staff on positioning of the levelled section of the отсечка railway.

+REM TM-System - REM TM-System represents a System intended to increase the working speed of the REMTECH and Plasser tamping machine. As of 2011, the REMTECH Track-Laying Machines have been using the REM TM-System track measuring system for pre-measuring for REMTECH and Plasser tamping machines. The innovative system records the data digitally and forwards the values to the REM computer of the tamping machines in digital flow.

The measuring equipment is operated by two persons. After storing information in a file, the measurement basis is set up. A radio link between wagons ensures data exchange. The first fixed point of the measuring chord is then defined. The tachymeter wagon then rolls to the next point and the measuring procedure is repeated. After the wagon has been moved to the chainage of the first fixed point, the distance between the wagons is measured. The REM prismatic wagon gradually moves towards the tachymeter wagon. At the same time, the displacement and lift values of the track are calculated based on the track's design axis and the data is saved every five metres. The railway operator copies the data from the field computer onto a USB stick, imports it into the software on their laptop and creates the tamping file with lifting and aligning values, which they then transfer onto a tamping disc of the REM or Plasser machine. In addition, it can also define the superelevations and track gauge.

++ Ballast Management PPT 50 The Plow Trailer PPT 50 has a heavy duty trailer mounted x-type transfer plow and shoulder profiling wings. The shoulder profiling wings allow ballast to be retrieved and brought into the transfer plow for distribution while profiling the shoulders to the proper slope angle. REM 80II "Enterprise" - Ballast Cleaning Machine {II generation}
The REM 80II "Enterprise" - Ballast Cleaning Machine is a second generation high output fully automated REM Ballast Cleaning Machine, special development and design by R&D Center “REM" with possibility for manufacture at stage zero in a REM plant by request of the client. This is a second generation of REM machine, automated with built – in autonomous systems: laser, for full remote control, for on-line diagnostics during operation, radars, georadars, GPS, 3D control and other REM systems. Our clients obtain a new class of Ballast Cleaning Machine with 18 month REM warranty, with high trustiness, high reliability and with high range of cleaning efficiency of up to 650-700 m3/h. The machine has been designed and tested to operate in extremely severe working conditions like continuous loading, high ambient temperature (climate), dust, severe pollution of the ballast prism, night vision windows for operation/screening upon full guarantee of the safety of the servicing personnel through an innovation system of REM Radar. No matter of the modes of operation and load, the automated system for control guarantees the client in real conditions of exploitation on the rail road reaching of the assigned factory – design productivity of screening up to levels of 700 m3/h.
Successful integration in the machine of patents, REM know – how and innovative REM systems for automation, control, diagnostics and securing of the work of the main key units and components (as per individual requirements and needs of each client), give the opportunity to any client to have a unique modern Ballast Cleaning Machine with customized requirements: with no analogue worldwide as to volume of further upgrading systems and automation. Each additional system gives unique opportunities for expanding of the capabilities of the machine, which generally result in minimum direct participation and engagement of a machine operator of upgrade, control and supervision during work: The REM 80II - Ballast Cleaning Machine can carry out screening and cleaning operation, when combined with a REM Y40 MFS Hopper or a REM Y100 (MFS 100) Hopper, and can perform four basic functions on maintenance of the ballast prism: cleaning/screening of ballast in real time, operative supplement of the ballast in the rail road if needed, complete throwing away of the ballast, as well as complete replacement with new ballast. The machine gives the opportunity for smooth adjustment of the operation speed from low to high through direct control and actuation of four driving axes. Dirty ballast is screened through a system of vibrating screens as the unnecessary polluted ballast, sand and soil can be collected or to be thrown aside through a conveying belt, or to be transported to a MFS carriage. The new ballast can be transported from a MFS carriage directly to fill traverses without stopping the machine or it to enter along with the screened (fit) ballast . The REM 80II has been equipped with a modern automated measuring control system, which controls in real time and in a fully autonomous way, and visualizes completely the current working status of all operating units during screening, increase before, in the zone and after cleaning; tension of the chain; state and speed of moving of the cutting chain; state and situation of screens; state and parameters of driving motors, generator, hydraulics and all other working units and components.

The objective of this method of investigation is to determine the pollution within the ballast bed and the mixture of ballast with the subsoil. It is also possible to locate water traps. The qualitative measurement of the water content in the subsoil enables the existing drainage quality to be assessed. By comparing the condition before and after the rehabilitation, it was possible to make a quality assessment of the formation rehabilitation work performed.
Technology The REM Georadar Measurements - RGM is state of the art for GPR systems. It is based on more than 20 years of working experience with GPR and it is the product of continuous development and adaptation to the specific requirements of our international railway customers. - Survey of tracks of any length or even of the entire railway network. - High speed survey of 900 track kilometres per run. - 2,000 scans per second. - Each channel is controlled separately, allowing even speeds of more than 300 kph. - Three or even more longitudinal profiles provide track cross section at any position. - Measurement only between sleepers to avoid disturbances. - Scan distance between 2 cm and 60 cm for coping with all customer requirements. - Antennae frequencies between 100 MHz and 900 MHz for high resolution in all depths. - System-embedded positioning radar for accurate allocation of all measuring data along the entire track. Accuracy better than 0.5 m. - System-integrated DGPS for reception of world wide satellite systems GPS and GLONASS. Correction data for GPS via GSM or EGNOS for an accuracy better than 0.3 m. - Displaying of survey track and all constructions in Google Earth. - System-integrated Video-camera for continuous view of survey track. - System-specific Viewer-programme for display of the GPR results related to the geotechnical conditions of the track, including Google-Earth-view and Video-camera-pictures.
The RGM survey provides continuous details of track conditions. Railway engineers obtain important information about: - Thickness of track bed and sub-ballast layer. - Sections with clean or fouled ballast. - Drainage problems in ballast bed and undertrack. - Mapping of load-bearing problems (settlements, ballast pockets). - Anomalies along the track. RGM - Radargram with longitudinal profile of track section The picture shows a track section between km 11.100 and km 11.700. In that section the ballast has been renewed to a depth of 0.3 m. Below, there is fouled ballast (dark grey layer). Ballast settlements indicate insufficient bearing capacity of the sandy formation. Below the sandy layer, a drilling at km 11.450 is showing peat and clay. The picture shows a track section between km 1.300 and km 1.900 (see horizontal axis). The vertical axes represent both depth in m related to top of sleepers and travel time of the waves in nanoseconds. In that section the ballast has been renewed to a depth of 0.5 m (pale grey layer). Below, there is fouled ballast (dark grey layer). Ballast settlements can be seen between km 1.460 and 1.570. This is an indication for insufficient bearing capacity of the sandy subgrade (yellow layer). Below the sandy formation there is clay to be found. Between km 1.600 and km 1.900 the clay layer is almost adjacent to the ballast bed. In this section, a well working drainage is important. Otherwise water will remain inside the track, leading to eventual stability problems of the track. The picture shows crossings at km 1.370 and km 1.870. Drillings have been carried out at km 1.550 and km 1.740. In both cases ground water has been found in a depth of 1.2 m.
Quality control of track construction Track construction is always very cost-intensive. That's why at least the result should add up. Our quality control is continuous and exact. And we provide information about: - Quality of new ballast (cleanliness). - Thickness of track bed and sub-ballast layer. - Efficiency of track drainage. - Evenness of ballast-bed bottom or sub-ballast layer. - Track cross-section. REM C16II/62D Switch Tamping Machine {II generation}
With the REM C16II/62D Switch Tamping Machine is mainly used to tamp in switch area, while it can also tamp on track line. The machine is applicable for lifting, lining, leveling, tamping, sweeping and shoulder consolidating for railway construction, overhaul and maintenance. Switch Tamping Machine is applicable for 50, 60, 68, 75kg/m rails, wooden or concrete sleepers (1667pcs/km for type concrete sleepers; 1680-1840pcs/km for type II concrete sleepers), crushed stone track bed, single line, double or multiple line with line spacing 4.0m and above.
The vehicle has the following features: • Japan HITACHI powershift transmission. • Tamping units for tamping of one sleepers (16 tamping tools). • Roller lifting and lining units with a total of four roller clamps. • Articulated trailer REM62D* (* Additional option: REM two stabilization units modul). • The machine is applicable in rainy day, night and heavy wind and dust circumstances. • Continuous working time is no less than 6 h. • Computer control system is provided with track line parameter input function which can realize auto, semi-auto or manual control of tamping operation. • Computer control system can automatically record, print and dump measuring results of working quality including track line level, superelevation, versine, distortion and working distance. • The tamping machine is fitted with one set of laser guiding system for lining control on flat and straight line. REM Z45-II Ballast cleaning machine {II generation}
The REM Z45-II ballast cleaning machine undercutter ballast-cleaner is applicable for medium and heavy duty ballast-cleaning operation of railway track bed. Without the need to dismantle rails and sleepers, the achine can excavate waste ballast by excavator chains and then feed the waste to ballast-hopper via lifting guide. The mixed ballast-conveyor belt takes ballast into vibration screen. Clean ballast after screened will be returned to track bed under sleepers through return hopper. The waste is conveyed to slewing conveyor belt via waste conveyor belt, and then feeding to the coupled materials transportation wagon. The waste can also be thrown to one side of track if there are no a bridges or tunnels on project site. When each working mechanism is engaged, the machine can perform continuous operation under its own power at the same time, and complete ballast cleaning of railway track bed. At railway sections required to completely replace ballast, all the waste ballast can be thrown to one side of track or to be directly conveyed to materials transportation MFS wagons.

By comparing the condition before and after the rehabilitation, it was possible to make a quality assessment of the formation rehabilitation work performed.
Technology The REM Georadar Measurements - RGM is state of the art for GPR systems. The RGM survey provides continuous details of track conditions. Railway engineers obtain important information about: - Thickness of track bed and sub-ballast layer. - Sections with clean or fouled ballast. - Drainage problems in ballast bed and undertrack. - Mapping of load-bearing problems (settlements, ballast pockets). - Anomalies along the track. RGM - Radargram with longitudinal profile of track section The picture shows a track section between km 11.100 and km 11.700. In that section the ballast has been renewed to a depth of 0.3 m. Below, there is fouled ballast (dark grey layer). Ballast settlements indicate insufficient bearing capacity of the sandy formation. Below the sandy layer, a drilling at km 11.450 is showing peat and clay. The picture shows a track section between km 1.300 and km 1.900 (see horizontal axis). The vertical axes represent both depth in m related to top of sleepers and travel time of the waves in nanoseconds. In that section the ballast has been renewed to a depth of 0.5 m (pale grey layer). Below, there is fouled ballast (dark grey layer). Ballast settlements can be seen between km 1.460 and 1.570. This is an indication for insufficient bearing capacity of the sandy subgrade (yellow layer). Below the sandy formation there is clay to be found. Between km 1.600 and km 1.900 the clay layer is almost adjacent to the ballast bed. In this section, a well working drainage is important. Otherwise water will remain inside the track, leading to eventual stability problems of the track. The picture shows crossings at km 1.370 and km 1.870. Drillings have been carried out at km 1.550 and km 1.740. In both cases ground water has been found in a depth of 1.2 m.
Quality control of track construction Track construction is always very cost-intensive. That's why at least the result should add up. Our quality control is continuous and exact. The continuous action tamping machine (Non-stop tamping). The way to success. The success of the 09 series is based on the notion of separating the main frame from the work unit frame. This means that the main frame can move forward continuously during work, when the essentially cyclic action of the working unit for lifting, lining and tamping is limited to the sub-frame. This brings: Higher working speed The working speed of a machine from the 09 series lies up to 50% above that of the conventional tamping machine. Even short train intervals can be used effectively and cost-efficiently. Reduction of running costs Due to the substantially lower acceleration of mass, the wear on breaks as well as on hydraulic and pneumatic components is reduced. Highest working comfort Due to the separation of main frame and sub-frame, the vibrations of the work units are not transmitted to the cabins. Working comfort is considerably improved, as the operator is no longer subjected to the acceleration pull and the braking jolts. Easy combination with other operations The continuous working action permits ideal combination with other continuous action machines such as a ballast plough and a dynamic track stabilizer, to form a high capacity mechanized maintenance train (HMDZ). Main Frame Made of rolled profiles and steel sheets, produced using the most up-to-date welding methods: the design guarantees stability and precision even on heavy types of permanent way. Two 2-axled bogies ensure smooth vehicle running. Sub-frame It carries all work units and measuring systems that use the cyclic work sequence: the lifting and lining units, the two tamping units and the sleeper-end consolidators. At the front it is supported on the main frame via a longitudinal roller guide. The sub-frame axle, powered by hydraulics during working travel, hydraulic cylinders and a pneumatic brake ensure the cyclic work sequence. Tamping units The two high-pressure tamping units work according to the well-proven non-synchronous uniform pressure tamping principle. Force equilibrium between the tine pairs, directional vibration in the squeeze direction and the ideal vibration frequency of 35 Hz guarantee completely uniform tamping. For work in curves the unit can be centered automatically over each rail. 09-32 CSM : two tamping units with 32 tamping tines in all for tamping two sleepers per tamping cycle. Sleeper - end consolidators On request, hydraulically powered sleeper-end consolidators can be mounted level with the tamping units. During tamping these fill empty gap occurring at the front side of the sleeper during the lining process. This permits optimum fixation of the track in lifted and lined position. Lifting and lining units The two well-proven roller lifting and lining units lift and line the track in one operation. The units have a total of four roller-lifting clamps. The distribution of the lifting forces and the exact centering of the units over the rails prevent the occurrence of tilting moments and excessive wear on rail fastenings. At the start of work they are lowered on to the track and remain there during entire work process. Lifting and lining is carried out only when the unit is at standstill. This permits precise lifting and lining. During forward motion the corresponding hydraulic cylinders are switched to pressure less mode. Driver’s cabin The cabin at the front of the machine houses the operating controls for the lining and leveling system and is equipped with all necessary controls for transfer travel. Drive and work cabin In the second cabin all operating and monitoring controls for operations and for transfer travel are clearly laid out. Large safety glass windows offer an excellent view onto the working area. Extensive soundproofing and vibration dampening achieve the high level of working comfort. Access to the cabins is via side steps and safety platforms. Between the two cabins there is an end-to-end roof and a connecting corridor for servicing. ALC The system calculates the correction values for maintenance of track radii and passes the results continuously to the measuring systems during work. The required target data is keyed in before start to work. Using this system it is possible to treat the entire track geometry. The ALC automatic guiding computer works on the basis of an industrial computer with a monitor and a keyboard. This concept permits the almost unlimited storage of track geometry data. Once entered, the data will be available at any time. Moreover, when the target geometry is unknown, the actual track position can be determined with the aid of measuring run by the tamping machine and the target geometry can be obtained via subsequent optimization calculation taking into account existing restrictions and fixed points. Electronic versine compensation is also available. Processor control All work sequences and hydraulic processes are controlled and monitored by a microprocessor. The entire electronic system is built in modular design. The program control contains a measuring and monitoring system that enables fast checking of all control functions.
A variety of auxiliary units help speed up the work process considerably. For example, the fully automatic control of the tamping process and the forward motion of the machine are available. The work speed can be selected freely in a certain range.
